Holston View Methodist Church Daycare and Preschool Purpose of the position:
The purpose of this position is coordinate and manage the daily operations of Holston View Daycare and Preschool, to ensure the program is providing a secure education setting for all children enrolled.
Responsibilities & duties:
Maintain childcare standards based on developmental practices.
Supervise all staff members, including scheduling.
Oversee hiring, orientation, and training staff.
Communicate effectively with staff about issues that may occur.
Perform classroom observations to complete performance evaluations and establish development opportunities for staff.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for staff.
Must stay current on Federal and State requirements for the childcare center and be willing to take certifications and training classes when needed.
Coordinate inspections and ensure consistent compliance with all state and federal regulations for the childcare center.
Maintain transparent and effective communication with parents of children.
Promote a positive, inclusive, caring climate for staff, students, and parents.
Maintain confidential information of children and staff during complex situations.
Follow and ensure proper child enrolment procedures are achieved.
Represent Holston View Daycare and Preschool in a professional and positive manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience & skills:
A bachelor's or master's degree in education with a concentration in early childcare development is preferred but not required.
Certification or Endorsement in Educational Leadership is preferred but not required.
Experience of successfully running a childcare facility is preferred but not required.
Experience as a classroom teacher of young children.
Experience in managing staff.
Strong understanding of childcare operations.
Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
Knowledge of Federal and State guidelines.

Established in 1971, Holston View first opened as a Kindergarten in Scott County and was later turned into a daycare and preschool for ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
